Director – Bent Northrop Memorial Library (Fairfield, VT)

Bent Northrop Memorial Library seeks a dynamic, innovative, collaborative, Director to join our library, the heart and hearth of Fairfield, VT (population, 1900). The successful candidate will exhibit an energetic and positive spirit while maintaining a safe and inviting environment for pre-school to adult patrons. They will be eager to connect with community members through innovative programming, be willing to learn new things, and be able to balance details with flexibility.

The Director, at 32 hours/week, will be responsible for planning and implementing programs for children 0-18 and adults. Other responsibilities include: maintain library materials and collections; interact with local school, community organizations, and Board of Trustees; manage the facility; provide technological assistance; build and manage budget, and supervise Assistant Librarian and other library staff. Preference will be given to candidates with MLS, Vermont Public Library Certification and/or related experience or willingness to pursue certification.
