2009 NEH PRESERVATION ASSISTANCE GRANT (PAG)

NEDCC CAN OFFER SUPPORT FOR YOUR PAG APPLICATION

THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES (NEH) will award PRESERVATION ASSISTANCE GRANTS (PAG) of up to $6,000 to small and mid-sized institutions for preservation planning and implementing small projects that strengthen collections care overall.

ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

  • General preservation assessment
  • Collection-level or item-level assessments
  • On-site training in areas such as disaster preparedness and environmental monitoring
  • Development of a preservation plan
  • Consultations with preservation professionals to address a specific preservation issue, need, or problem
  • Attendance at preservation and digitization workshops and training programs, including related travel and per diem expenses
  • A combination of some of the above

HOW THE NORTHEAST DOCUMENT CONSERVATION CENTER CAN HELP:

commitment letters and staff résumés, and reviewing drafts of grant narratives.

BY INITIATING YOUR PRESERVATION PLAN WITH A GENERAL ASSESSMENT, you can develop an ongoing relationship with NEDCC that takes advantage of the Center’s combined in-house expertise.

NEDCC OFFERS AN ARRAY OF SERVICES that meet client needs, including preservation and conservation assessments; conservation treatment of books, paper, and photographs; digitization; and preservation microfilming. NEDCC is a premier center for consultation and training on the preservation and digitization of paper-based collections and photographs.
