It’s the first annual Vermont Libraries Day!

An open book with the page ends in the shape of the state of Vermont and the text reads Vermont Libraries Day

Vermont is celebrating its first official Libraries Day on Monday, October 19th! It was signed into law earlier this year as Act 127 and will be held annually on the third Monday of October.

“Libraries are notoriously shy about calling attention to all they do,” said Vermont Library Association President Amy Williams. “Among their countless contributions, libraries foster healthy and positive social connections. In our age of isolation and digital addiction, libraries provide a welcome alternative and community. Stop by your library and join the celebration on the first-ever Vermont Libraries Day!”

The Vermont Library Association has created some promotional materials which you can share with your patrons and public and social media accounts which are available in this Google Drive folder.
