Lydia Taft Pratt Library in West Dummerston, Vermont is seeking a part time Library Director. Approximately 20 hours/week, benefits not included. Salary range will be between $17 and $20/hour depending on previous experience.
Responsibilities include: organizing and coordinating library services, overseeing the library space, ensuring organization and cleanliness, and creating a welcoming, safe environment. Ensuring that the library’s technology is up to date and functioning properly, including security protocols. Maintaining the library’s website, and sustaining a collection of materials that represent diverse ideas, information, and insights. Presenting and advocating for the library’s interests in appropriate community forums.
A Bachelor’s degree is required and an MLS/MLIS degree or equivalent library experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be encouraged to work toward a Vermont Public Library certificate if they do not have a degree in Library Science, and must be willing to pursue continuing education to stay current in library science.
