The GFL is a welcoming public library that serves residents and visitors through robust programming, innovative services, lifelong learning opportunities, and a commitment to accessibility. We are seeking a collaborative and community minded leader who will build relationships and help continue its role as a vibrant center for learning, creativity, connection, and discovery. The ideal candidate will be organized, adaptable, and comfortable balancing public service, programming, administration, and day to day library operations.
Candidates should possess, or be working toward, a Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS), Vermont Certificate of Public Librarianship, or equivalent professional experience. We welcome applicants with leadership experience in libraries, nonprofit organizations, community organizations, or related fields who demonstrate strong administrative, organizational, and public service skills.
This is a part time position of up to 30 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications and ranges from $25 to $30 per hour. Benefits include paid vacation, paid sick leave, personal time, and a retirement contribution.
The anticipated start date is mid July 2026. Training and transition time with the current Director will be available to help ensure a smooth onboarding process.
