Library Director – Pope Memorial Library (Danville, VT)

The Pope Memorial Library is seeking a Library Director candidate for 37 hours a week, to pilot a busy, non-profit community library located in the heart of historic Danville, VT.  This “Jewel on the Green” library serves a vibrant and growing community of about 2,300 people located in a traditional Vermont town.

The library director supervises a part time children’s librarian and is responsible for a current adult book and media collection, public access to technology and year-round adult programming. The director additionally manages the Danville Community Center located right next door, which is available for library programming and community rentals. The Pope Library Director also enjoys relationships with the Danville School’s Prek-12 grade library and two smaller libraries located within the town’s other small village centers.

Candidates must be willing to develop and maintain strong technology skills consistent with library environments and plan and implement new services to center our public library as a dynamic community hub. Additional job requirements can be found at www.popememoriallibrary.org.

Preference will be given to candidates with a Vermont Department of Library Certificate with at least two or three years of library experience or a strong candidate with related professional experience and willingness to pursue certification.  The salary range is $16.50 – $17.50, dependent on experience and education level, and includes vacation, sick leave, and negotiable additional benefits. This position includes evening and Saturdays.
