Position Summary:
As the Adult Programming & Engagement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in developing, organizing, and facilitating an exciting array of programs, services, and outreach initiatives tailored to our adult audience. Your creativity and innovation will shine as you create opportunities for connection, education, and entertainment. This full-time (40 hours a week), in-person position includes a rotation of evening and weekend hours to accommodate the needs of our community.

Salary & Benefits: Starting salary of $40,500 plus benefits and participation in VMERS.

Adult Services Circulation Manager – Brooks Memorial Library (Brattleboro, VT)

Title: Adult Services Circulation Manager

Department: Brooks Memorial Library

Nature of work:

Establishes a welcoming first impression of the library through management of the circulation functions, ensuring effective and efficient library operations and service. Duties involve managing and overseeing all aspects of library adult services: circulation, scheduling, training and supervising clerks and volunteers. Assists with reference and reader’s advisory. Takes a leadership role in promotion of library services and programs. Participates in the supervisor team with librarians and Library Director. Facilitates a collaborative, cooperative work environment. Initiates projects, manages teams and motivates staff and volunteers.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday including Saturdays in schedule rotation and 1 evening per week for 37.5 hours per week.

Wage: Step 1 $25.26 per hour.

The Stowe Free Library is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Director/Adult Services Librarian who is dedicated, friendly, and customer service oriented with exceptional attention to detail.

The Assistant Director plans, develops and provides adult library programming as well as assists the Director with goal setting, library planning and collection development, as well as supports overall library operations.

The individual selected will have demonstrated administrative skills managing library functions through its vision, goals and strategic plan.  They will have budgeting and supervisory experience as well as advanced technology skills.  The Assistant Director/Adult Services Librarian will contribute to a safe, respectful and collaborative team culture through positive role modeling and strong communications skills.

A master’s degree in library science or related field, with three years of experience in library operations, budgeting and employee supervision is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay range is $26.72-$30.06, dependent upon experience.  Includes evening shifts with occasional weekend shifts as well.  The Town of Stowe currently offers an excellent benefit package including health and dental insurance, paid leave, a generously matched retirement plan, life insurance and more.
