This is a reminder that the materials review sessions (oral reviews of children’s and young adult books) are coming up soon and that there are some changes in venues. As always, baked goods and other munchies are VERY welcome. The schedule is below:
Please note that the deadline for filing for assistance from FEMA for homeowners/individuals/business to file is October 31, 2011 November 15, 2011.
The due date for the 2011 National Survey of Public Library Funding and Technology Access has been extended to November 18.
The 2011 PLFTAS survey is in its tenth week in the field. The current national response rate is 47% – more than halfway to the goal of 60%! But, Vermont only has a 35% response rate, so far. We continue to need your help and support for this important data collection effort to make sure we meet that 60% goal both nationally and within the state by the time the survey closes on November 18.
DOL has decided to CANCEL and re-schedule the E-Rate workshops scheduled in Ludlow 8/31 and Barre 9/1
We will be in touch as soon as we have information about re-scheduling
A friendly reminder that the 2010 Public Library Funding & Technology Access Survey (sometimes called the Plinter survey) funded by the American Library Association and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will now close on November 14 for library participation. Libraries participating in the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Opportunity Online Hardware Grant Program are required to participate in the survey, but all Vermont public libraries are encouraged to submit data. The survey will close on November 14, so, although you still have time, please be sure to complete it. So far we have about 18% participation.
