We seek presenters for the Dartmouth Biomedical Libraries’ annual October Conference for New England academic librarians!
This year’s conference will showcase practical applications of new tools – and innovative uses of tried-and-true tools – that support learning, outreach or reference. The day-long event is scheduled for Friday, October 15, 2010 at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire (an easy two-hour drive from Boston, Springfield, and many other New England locations).
You’ve heard about what’s new and cool now it’s time to share what works. How have you incorporated new tools into your repertoire? Have you retooled old technologies for an innovative use? How do you use mobile technologies for outreach? Are you using audience response systems (clickers) to assess learning? Do you have tools to enhance interactive teaching and learning? Do you use collaboration tools or conferencing tools for outreach or distance learning? Screencasting to answer reference questions? Have you figured out a good teaching application for the iPad? If you are doing any of these or have other successes to share, we want to hear from you!
To submit a proposal for a presentation (10-30 minutes), please e-mail pamela.bagley@dartmouth.edu by Friday, June 11. The proposal should include a brief description of your project and how long you’ll need for the presentation.
We typically have 120 participants attend our October Conferences (please see http://www.dartmouth.edu/~library/biomed/services/october-conf.html); we expect similar attendance this year.
We hope to hear from you soon.
