Information Specialist/Librarian – Champlain Valley Union High School (Hinesburg, VT)

This job in a busy high school library serving approximately 1,300 students includes working together as a team with two other librarians, supporting students and teachers, and co-teaching with classroom teachers. Another primary role of this position is working with the school’s leadership teams to map and respond to student engagement data. Candidates should be familiar with current library systems, comfortable manipulating data, and have experience working in a high school environment. Master’s degree preferred. Certification as a School Librarian preferred.

  • work with a team to study, analyze, and disseminate important student engagement data.
  • demonstrate success at teaching and being an instructional partner, including with sustained, embedded units in classrooms.
  • integrate information literacy skills throughout all areas of the curriculum.
  • have rapport with and respect for high-school-aged students.
  • show flexibility for working on a team and in a dynamic atmosphere, and have the ability to juggle many tasks at once.
  • co-lead book groups and other professional development for students and staff that center growth along the anti-bias and antiracist continuums.
  • be comfortable with eBooks, audiobooks, online databases, digital tools, and apps for education.
  • support the continued hosting and advising of student clubs, including the Gender Sexuality Alliance, our chapter of Project LIT Community, and the Racial Alliance Committee.
  • learn new resources and develop expertise in the application of these resources.
  • creatively promote resources to the whole school community and strive to provide equitable access.
