The Russell Memorial Library now seeks a Lead Librarian to oversee all aspects of library services provided by our rural library, open 16 hours per week. The Lead Librarian supervises 1-2 other staff. Applicants should be able to work partial weekends and/or weekday evenings, when most patrons are able to visit the library. We are open to adjusting library hours to meet the needs of the successful applicant. Unfortunately, we cannot offer benefits or paid leave for this part-time position.
The Lead Librarian typically works about 20 hours per week. Pay will depend upon the applicant’s qualifications and will likely be in the range of $23-$26/hour for 2025.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field or previous library experience. We seek someone who is organized, flexible, creative, communicates well in person and in writing, has a spirit of collaboration, and a sincere interest in working with both adults and children. In addition to library skills, the ideal candidate has good working knowledge of computer systems and use of social media, as well as the ability to update a spreadsheet, make a good-looking flyer and edit a webpage.
