Circulation Assistant – Rutland Free Library (Rutland, VT)

The Rutland Free Library is seeking an outgoing, organized individual as a circulation assistant. This is a full-time position based on a 37.5-hour work week.

The circulation department is primarily responsible for accurately checking in and out 150,000+ items a year, and for being the first point of contact for our patrons and users. Circulation assistants will also work in conjunction with our librarians on tasks related to preparation/discarding of material and maintenance of necessary files.

Many of these specialized areas of responsibility require using computer programs such as Publisher and Excel, and applicants should be comfortable with ever-changing tech.

Applicants must be able to stand for long periods of time, and the position involves pushing, pulling, and lifting loads. Ability to lift 50 pounds is preferred.

The position starts at $19.73 an hour. Benefits include health, dental and life/disability insurance, vacation, and a retirement match.”
