The Rockingham Free Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking a director to lead our municipal library, which serves approximately 5,200 Rockingham residents and has broad community support. It is a beautiful Carnegie library that was built in 1909, renovated in 2013, and is located in the historic village of Bellows Falls, overlooking the scenic Connecticut River in southeastern Vermont.
The Director is responsible for all phases of library operations, oversees a staff of two full-time and 6 part-time employees to provide library services, and works with the nine-member Library Board to develop policies and the annual budget.
The successful candidate will have the experience and skill to plan and implement new services; excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to meet the needs of an enthusiastic staff, volunteers and Friends of the Library, and community organizations; technology skills; fundraising and financial expertise; and enthusiasm for the role of our public library as a community hub and center of learning.
Required qualifications: Masters of Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution, and five years of library administration experience, including three years in a supervisory capacity, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary Range: $48,000 – 63,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is full-time, salaried position and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
