We are seeking a student-focused, collaborative, and enthusiastic Instruction and Reference Librarian who will contribute to student success via teaching, research help, and outreach. The successful candidate will partner with library faculty and staff, college subject faculty, and student support offices to anticipate and serve student needs. This is a two-year visiting position with a 12-month contract. We intend this librarian to start in July 2024. The Feinberg Library assists students, faculty, staff, and the community in their intellectual activities by providing resources and services in support of research, teaching, and learning. We strive to help our users develop information literacy essential for life-long learning and becoming well-informed, reflective global citizens. We are part of the Academic Affairs division that administratively builds our college commitment to student success through a strong curriculum, excellent teaching, and scholarly research. Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in information and/or library science, from an ALA-accredited school or an ALA-approved foreign equivalent, by time of appointment. As such, we welcome applications from recent MLIS graduates and current MLIS students who will earn the degree by the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and administrators
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or demonstrated interest in the following areas: teaching or instruction, providing research help, and/or programming and outreach
- Experience working, interning, or volunteering at a library
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Demonstrated evidence of good communication and interpersonal skills
Salary
$51,027 minimum, plus excellent benefits
