The Librarian collaborates with other members of the Library Services Team to bring high quality information services, programs, and technology support to patrons of the Athenaeum. The Library Services Team consists of: the Coordinator of Library Services, the Youth Services Librarian, two part-time Librarians, and the Library Associate. Volunteers are also integral in providing library services.
This is a 40 hour per week position which includes two evenings per week until 7:00 pm and every Saturday 9:00-3:00.

Library Director, Cheney Library (Hoosick Falls, NY)

The Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls, NY, a small, rural free association library located in eastern Rensselaer County, seeks an energetic, creative individual with a strong commitment to community for the position of Library Director. 
 
Serving a user population of approximately 7,000, the Cheney Library is governed by an eight-member board of trustees and is a member of the Upper Hudson Library System. The library is in a historic building surrounded by beautiful gardens and enjoys strong community support and an active volunteer base. The Board is looking for a Director to ensure that this “small village with big dreams” continues to have an engaged and vibrant public library to help realize those dreams.
 
The Library Director reports to the Board of Trustees and holds primary responsibility for the operation and management of the Library. Along with regular customer service responsibilities, other duties include collection, service, and program planning and management; budget management; supervision of staff and volunteers; public relations and community outreach; fund raising; and grant writing.
The position is scheduled to work 36 hours per week with a schedule that supports library services, programs, and events. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and the ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, excellent communication skills, strong technology skills, and an appreciation for the importance of public library service in a small community. Demonstrated experience in library service, staff and volunteer supervision, budgeting, and facility management will also be highly desirable.  Fund-raising and grant writing experience will be considered a plus. The Library Director’s annual salary will be $30,000– $33,000 based on the selected candidate’s skills and experience.

Part-Time Media Assistant (Hartland, VT)

Temporary Part-Time Aide (Sunapee, NH)

The Abbott Library is a busy, dynamic and professional working environment. We are seeking an energetic and engaged part-time library aide to work 15-18 hours a week. Duties will include planning for our popular After School Kids (ASK) program and supervising students in ASK. Candidates must be available to work on Mondays from 2:30 to 4:30 and Wednesdays from 2:30 to 5:00. Planning and preparation for the program can be scheduled with some flexibility within the library’s open hours.

The ability to work some Saturdays and work additional hours when needed is a plus. Ideal candidates will be personable, cheerful, professional and enjoy working with the public. Candidates must have basic computer skills, Internet searching skills and enjoy working with children. Experience working in a library and/or educational setting is a plus.

Library Director (Winchester, NH)

Library in Winchester, New Hampshire as the social, educational, and
cultural hub of our community. We prefer candidates with a bachelor’s
degree and experience managing a library to be the steward of our
diverse media, historic building, and museum collections. The director
will work with the library board of trustees, members of the community,
schools, local service organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to
