The Newbury Public Library in Newbury NH seeks a highly motivated, energetic and creative Children’s Librarian who is interested in joining our team. We are an active library known for our programming and are looking for a passionate Children’s Librarian to become a part of our community! Our ideal candidate will be able to create fun and engaging programs ranging from dynamic Storytimes for babies to preschool to afterschool, summer and family programs for elementary aged children and tweens/teens.  They will be technologically savvy, have a love of children’s literature and be friendly and approachable to all ages. Experience working with children is highly valued.

This is a part-time, 20 hours per week position, $16-18 per hour depending on experience.  Weekend availability is a must. Extra hours will be given in the summer (5 extra hours per week, typically on Wednesdays), due to the Summer Reading Program schedule. Hiring is contingent on a background check.

FGI Bookmobile Coordinator – Care of Vermont Adult Learning (Swanton, VT)

The FGI Bookmobile organization is seeking an individual with a variety of talents to operate the Bookmobile, “Figgy” and her programs. The Coordinator will be responsible to provide library and education services around Franklin and Grand Isle Counties with a focus on early childhood outreach. This work includes operating a large vehicle that carries a portable library to various sites and providing early childhood and literary activities to youth, their families and childcare providers. Other work includes oversight and quality of the FGI Bookmobile route, maintaining the program budget, social media outreach, upkeep, and development of the collection, programs, plan and implement programs, special event activities, and other duties including administrative.

The ideal candidate will have a love for reading, fun, learning, and sharing stories with others. Additional qualities include experience in education/program design and program management, data collection, basic computer skills, self-direction, and an outgoing personality.

This position begins in August and is part-time and budgeted between 20 and 25 hours, flexible per week. The FGI Bookmobile Coordinator will report to the FGI Board of Directors.

Children’s Programming Coordinator – Morrill Memorial and Harris Library (Strafford, VT)

Responsibilities for this part-time position at the Morrill Memorial and Harris Library in Strafford, Vermont  include overseeing children’s programming, including planning and executing a weekly after school program during the school year with a craft or activity tie-in; six weeks of summer reading programming; bi-weekly or monthly outreach to the Creative Preschool; and occasional special programs.
Programs should be literacy based, age appropriate and include quality children’s literature.
