We are searching for an enthusiastic person to promote Conant Public
Library in Winchester, New Hampshire as the social, educational, and
cultural hub of our community. We prefer candidates with a bachelor’s
degree and experience managing a library to be the steward of our
diverse media, historic building, and museum collections. The director
will work with the library board of trustees, members of the community,
schools, local service organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to
identify the needs of the community. The director will devote special
attention to the development of the collection, programs, and
environment for the youth and children of the community. Working
thirty-two to thirty-four hours per week, the director will develop
long-term strategies, relationships, and programs to address the needs
and deploy our library, staff, collections, and other assets to support
and enrich the library’s community and the lives of those therein.

Description:
The Vermont Department of Libraries is seeking a motivated, creative and public service-minded librarian to serve as Director of Services at the Vermont State Library in Montpelier, Vermont. The Vermont State Library includes the State Law Library, Vermont historical newspapers on microfilm, a Vermontiana collection, Vermont state documents, and is a partial federal documents depository. The Library serves the three branches of state government, the Vermont legal community, and the general public. Under the general supervision of the State Librarian, the Director of State Library Services will lead a team of 4 FTEs, including a Law Librarian and Reference/Interlibrary Loan Librarian and will oversee reference and information services, including reference back-up service for Vermont public libraries and services to State employees, and interlibrary loan. The Director will provide leadership and planning for the State Library, and will also perform duties in reference and interlibrary loan. Successful candidates will be able to perform administrative, managerial, supervisory, professional, technical, customer service, and public relations duties to advance the work of the Vermont State Library. The Director will also take part in other Department planning and program delivery activities as a member of the Department’s Management Team. Duties include: oversight, planning and direction of the Vermont State Library; direct reference and interlibrary loan service; collaboration with state agencies and local libraries; training and instruction to state employees and local library employees; collection development and maintenance; production of materials such as newsletters and bibliographies; creation of tools and resources to enhance reference service; website development/maintenance; grant-writing and grants management; and assessment and evaluation. The person in this position will travel (mostly in-state) and will require personal means of transportation. Duties are performed under the general supervision of the State Librarian.

Champlain College seeks an enthusiastic, collegial and service-oriented Librarian to join their award-winning library team and provide high quality academic library services in an innovative setting. This position provides administration, support and enhancement of a variety of library technology infrastructure, including the library management system, link resolver, and proxy server. With Champlain’s primarily digital collection, the individual in this position is concerned with eliminating barriers to access of information including troubleshooting and maintaining e-resources and providing project management and oversight of technical services. S/he develops relevant training and documentation of processes for library staff. In addition to staying current in emerging professional trends relating to library automation, systems, and discovery, this position will have the opportunity to play a key role in planning and coordinating a transition to a new library management system within the next 18 months.
