The library is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, and tenacious Library Director. Together with the Children’s Programming Coordinator will plan, promote, and execute all aspects of library service for the community.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Recent employment in a library setting.
- A bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant work experience and education.
- A candidate without a master’s degree in library science will be required to hold a Vermont Certificate of Librarianship within 2 years of employment.
Sample Skill Range Required:
- Knowledge of library management software systems and cataloging
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to offer multi-genre readers advisory and anticipating and purchasing per community interests
- Proven fundraising and grant writing experience
- Creates budgets and tracks financial reports
- Plans inexpensive and innovative library programming
- Holds library, nonprofit, business, and/or volunteer management skills
- Skilled at spreadsheets, word processing, Word Press, and social media
- Familiar with the use of library databases and e-content
Position To Begin July 1, 2023
- This is a 22 hour per week position with the library open Tuesday & Thursday 11-6 and Saturday 9-12.
- Starting pay $20.00/hr. including paid vacation and holidays.
