The goal of Alburgh School library is to enhance student achievement and foster the appreciation of literature by ensuring that students and teachers are effective users of ideas and information. This goal is accomplished by:
• providing intellectual and physical access to materials in a variety of formats.
• providing instruction to foster literacy competence and stimulate interest in accessing, evaluating, and applying information and ideas.
• promoting literacy throughout the day.
• collaborating with other educators to design learning so that students’ literacy needs are met.
• serving as an independent and supervised learning center.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and valid State of Vermont teaching certificate.
• State certification as a school library media specialist.
• Desire to continue career improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Library Science, Master of Educational Technology, or comparable degree
Supervision
• The library media specialist reports directly to and is evaluated by the Alburgh School principal

Library Director (Winchester, NH)
We are searching for an enthusiastic person to promote Conant Public
Library in Winchester, New Hampshire as the social, educational, and
cultural hub of our community. We prefer candidates with a bachelor’s
degree and experience managing a library to be the steward of our
diverse media, historic building, and museum collections. The director
will work with the library board of trustees, members of the community,
schools, local service organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to
identify the needs of the community. The director will devote special
attention to the development of the collection, programs, and
environment for the youth and children of the community. Working
thirty-two to thirty-four hours per week, the director will develop
long-term strategies, relationships, and programs to address the needs
and deploy our library, staff, collections, and other assets to support
and enrich the library’s community and the lives of those therein.

The 2018 VLA Conference Has Come And Gone – See You At Next Year's Conference
Over 300 library lovers attended the 2018 Vermont Library Conference at Lake Morey Resort on May 18th. Headliners Erica Freundenberger, Bill McKibben and Sue Halpern inspired us all. The day was filled with 25 workshops created and presented by our very own Vermont librarians. Lt. Governor David Zuckerman dropped by at the reception to chat one on one with us.
