Summary
This position will be split 50/50 between updating the Help Me Grow and the Vermont 211 databases. The Resource Database Curator works to ensure that accurate and up-to-date information about health, human, government, and community services is included and maintained in the Help Me Grow and Vermont 211 databases. The Resource Database Curator also proactively gathers information about new health, human, government, and community service programs and tracks major changes in existing programs for inclusion in the Help Me Grow and 2-1-1 databases.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services, library sciences, or related field
  • Associates Degree plus a minimum of four years of experience working in human services or related field
  • Computer experience required; database software experience preferred
  • Experience in community collaboration or non-profit sector exposure preferred

  • Manage and provide innovative content for the website and social media platforms (Facebook, and other sites).
  • Keep the library collection current and organized through collection development and maintenance.
  • Develop procedures for recruitment and supervision of volunteers and interns in accordance with the personnel policy.
  • Keeps current with developments in the library profession. Attends professional meetings and conferences, participates in team planning and goal setting.

Library Director – Pope Memorial Library (Danville, VT)

The Pope Memorial Library is seeking a Library Director candidate for 37 hours a week, to pilot a busy, non-profit community library located in the heart of historic Danville, VT.  This “Jewel on the Green” library serves a vibrant and growing community of about 2,300 people located in a traditional Vermont town.

The library director supervises a part time children’s librarian and is responsible for a current adult book and media collection, public access to technology and year-round adult programming. The director additionally manages the Danville Community Center located right next door, which is available for library programming and community rentals. The Pope Library Director also enjoys relationships with the Danville School’s Prek-12 grade library and two smaller libraries located within the town’s other small village centers.
