Assistant Director – Richards Free Library (Newport, NH)

The Richards Free Library of Newport NH seeks a dynamic individual to become Assistant Director.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for managing the library in the absence of the director.
  • Catalogs all materials and maintains library’s OPAC and oversees materials for processing.
  • Oversees ILL service including streamlining the ILL procedures and training staff in those procedures.
  • Oversees marketing and social media.
  • Responsible for purchasing library supplies.
  • Compiles monthly statistics and deposits.
  • Performs all duties of the circulation desk including assisting patrons with library needs, including:  quick reference, detailed research and reader’s advisory assistance, explanation of policies and procedures to the public, room scheduling, ensure the return of materials and troubleshooting computer and equipment issues.
  • Trains other staff in library systems, procedures and policies.
  • Helps develop and coordinate special projects, programs and grant funding.
  • Manages volunteers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

A Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution is preferred or a combination of education and experience may be considered.

Status : The position is full time (40 hour week) and non-exempt.

Salary: $21.00-$25.00/hour.

Salary range: $70,000-$80,000

Located on scenic Casco Bay, Falmouth, Maine is a coastal community with approximately 11,000 residents. Falmouth Memorial Library originally opened in 1952 to honor its veterans. The Library currently serves a vibrant community and is completing an expansion and renovation project. The renovated Library will have approximately 17,000 sq. feet and plans to re-open in the spring of 2020.

Library Director — Grand Isle Free Library (Grand Isle, VT)

The Windsor Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking an experienced, collaborative, innovative, dedicated leader to serve as Library Director. The Windsor Public Library sits in the heart of Windsor – the birthplace of Vermont – on a bend in the Connecticut River in south-central Vermont. Director – Mount Holly Town Library (Belmont, VT)
